The original Southgate House is one of my favorite venues in the country. It was the perfect mix of rock and roll and vintage class. Sadly, last year there was a shake-up in the ownership and the venue was forced to relocate. In 2012 the Southgate House rose from the ashes as the Southgate House Revival in an old church building just a few blocks from the old location. Until last night I had not been to the new location. I was pleased with the layout and the overall aesthetic. My only complaint would be that they could use a few more lights in the Sanctuary (the large concert hall). Heartless Bastards put on a hell of a show to a sold out hometown crowd and I can’t wait to see them live again soon!
