Divine Fits – Taft Theatre Ballroom

If there’s such a thing as an indie rock supergroup, Divine Fits might just be it.  One part Britt Daniel (Spoon) and one part Dan Boeckner (Handsome Furs, Wolf Parade) and joined Sam Brown and Alex Fischel on keys and drums respectively, Divine Fits has still has a bit of that rhythmic, Spoon sound but not so much so that it sounds just like a Spoon album.  In the ballroom at the Taft Theater, a fairly small crowd assembled to see Divine Fits in their first show in Ohio.  I must say, I’m a surprised, given the pedigree of the band and use of a song in a commercial that there were as few people there as there were.  Those that were at the show, in a few years will be able to say “I saw them back when no one knew who they were” because I think Divine Fits is going to be around for a while.
