Music Now Festival 2013 – Memorial Hall

MusicNOW was founded in 2006 by Bryce Dessner of The National. Through the years, the festival has invited contemporary musicians and risk-taking artists who do not fit neatly into genre defined categories. Past performances have included festival-only collaborations, world premiere compositions, and sold out audiences.

Unfortunately, I was only able to make it to the first two days of the 2013 MusicNOW Festival. For those nights the lineup included Tinariwen (from Mali), Richard Reed Parry (of Arcade Fire), Buke & Gase, Glen Hansard, Brooklyn Youth Choir, The Ariel Quartet, and Shara Worden (of My Brightest Diamond).
